Doxycycline
Doxycycline is one of most popularly prescribed antibiotics that works for a wide number of infections caused by the presence of bacteria in the body. It’s very important that you carry on taking this medicine for as long as prescribed to make sure all the bacteria have been cleared out. Never take this medicine if you have history of an allergic reaction to it or any other antibiotics. The following symptoms are possible if you have taken doxycycline in spite of a history of an allergic reaction to it: hives, rash, difficulty breathing and swelling in your face, feet, hands or throat. Mild side effects are possible, although most people are likely to experience no side effects at all. The following are most commonly experienced mild side effects that are short-lived and can mean your body is adjusting to the dose prescribed a bit slower than usual: vaginal itching, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, mild nausea, trouble swallowing, and sores inside your mouth. Doxycycline has been reported to interfere with quite a few drugs. Make sure you report the following ones to your health care provider: cholestyramine, drugs containing bismuth subsalicylate, minerals, penicillin antibiotics, tretinoin, antacids, isotretinoin, blood thinners, and colestipol, as well as any other over-the-counter or prescription medications you are taking or are planning to take.
